Who we are

GoodChats is an English platform for B2+ speakers who want to achieve real fluency. By drawing on psychology and neuroscience, we focus on something most platforms ignore: how people actually learn.

Our ethos is simple: enjoy the journey.

Research into motivation, attention, and reward pathways consistently shows that we learn more deeply when we’re engaged, curious, and connected to others.

That principle sits at the core of GoodChats.

Our lessons are built around real conversation, designed to make speaking English something you genuinely want to do, not something you have to discipline yourself into. This allows our members to make practicing English a joyful, sustainable, daily habit – the key to becoming fluent.

A Complete Structure for Language Development

A structured system built around repeated cycles of input, active use, and reflection that moves beyond study into real language use.
By applying retrieval practice to reinforce recall, using meaningful social interaction to support encoding, and leveraging reward, novelty, and consistency, The GoodChats Method significantly increases engagement and long-term retention.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The GoodChats System offers 4 avenues for learning; private sessions, open sessions, deep dives & thought threads, and community prompts.

By utilising a variety of options, you have the flexibility to choose what works best for you, and the structure to progress confidently.

  • First, purchase your credits.

Private English Skills Session credits can be used to book with any available facilitator.

Open Conversational Session credits can be used to join any scheduled open session.

Next, choose your facilitator, book your session, and start speaking English!

  • Unlike a tutor, who typically just leads a lesson, a facilitator engineers the conditions for great conversations, guiding discussion whilst masterfully layering in formal English skills along the way.

Every facilitator has years of teaching experience and university qualifications in education or related fields. Beyond their expertise, they are chosen for their warmth, curiosity, and ability to create an environment where students feel comfortable speaking from the very first session.

  • Private sessions give you 50 minutes of one-on-one time with your chosen facilitator, targeting your pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as enjoying good conversation.

These sessions follow the GoodChats Curriculum and build on each other over time. You can find one facilitator you love, or choose a different facilitator each time to guide you through the curriculum. Earlier sessions introduce or review the foundations, while later sessions explore more complex language and ideas.

  • Open sessions invite up to 5 people to enjoy a good conversation together, with optional study sent before and after the session.

These sessions are designed to be a comfortable space to practice natural, conversational English skills in live conversation with real people.

To respect the time of both members and facilitators, open sessions run even if only one person is attending. If you are the only attendee, your session will be adjusted to include 50 minutes of conversation and a 25-minute guided activity, ensuring a balanced and engaging experience.

  • These sessions are designed for B2+ learners who already have conversational ability but want to improve fluency, vocabulary, and precision.

If you aren’t sure, feel free to book an Assessment Session and your facilitator will let you know which sessions are best suited to your needs.
